June 20, 2006 New limits on Calcasieu Lake. The limit for speckled trout on Calcasieu have been reduced to 15 fish per person. All other limits are the same. How yall are?
The fishing has been very good the last few weeks with limits being the norm. The jetties have been producing regularly and there are still birds picking in the lake. We are catching large amounts of undersized trout under the birds. Hopefully this is a good sign of thing so come in the fall. The top water bite is doing fair. There have been a few 8 - 9 lbers. caught. Until next time, take care and God bless!
